Uninsured Motorists Coverage in New York State

In New York State, and many other States, you can buy a coverage called Uninsured Motorists Coverage in New York State. This type of coverage is intended to pay you in the case of an accident where someone else is at fault, and they don’t have Liability Insurance, or they carry Liability Insurance with limits less than yours.

This type of coverage is meant to protect you as it provides compensation for Bodily Injury sustained by you, a family member in your home, or somoene else in your car riding as a passenger.

Statutory limits for this coverage are $25,000 per person per accident, subject to a maximum of $50,000 per accident , or $50,000 per person in a death claim, subject to a $100,000 Maximum for the incident.

Since these limits are very low, you should discuss purchasing Supplementary Uninsured Motorists Coverage (SUM) which can be bought at limits up to the Liability Limit you choose.

In addition, some insurance companies that we represent offer the SUM coverage underneath their Umbrella Policy. So you could increase your limits substantially for very little additional cost.

When you call (8450) 561-1706, ask one of our staff members to provide you with a quote including SUM in the Umbrella.
